Go much bigger and faster in less wind. This is THE gateway for advanced freeriders to enjoy even more epic sessions while rediscovering the awesome sensation of kite power that got them hooked in the beginning.
We’ve taken the most powerful elements of race kite design and re-tuned them to suit a wider range of riders, delivering rocket-fuelled big air twin-tip performance and fluid, high-speed riding on a hydrofoil.
Developed from the R1 V4 and Chrono DNA, the Mach 1 sets a new benchmark for freeride performance possibilities, especially in lighter winds.
“Our aim is to design foil kites with the same performance that we’ve always strived for, but with more accessibility. The very latest race kites, like our R1 V5, have become very technical to ride, but the great aspects of race kite performance has always been the fact they produce tremendous amounts of power and lift with a huge wind range.
Re-imagining how race kite performance could benefit freeriders became a very logical place for us to start our development of the Mach1. We’ve made everything far more user-friendly than a race kite, while maintaining the high performance benefits.”
CONNOR BAINBRIDGE, OZONE R&D DEVELOPMENT TEAM AND OLYMPIC RACER
We recommend flying the Mach1 with 17m or 21m lines depending on conditions, discipline and rider preferences.
Choose to ride with 21m lines as an easy standard length for your first rides, in lighter winds or on larger kite sizes for all round riding.
When using 17m lines the Mach1’s handling becomes more dynamic, responsive and direct – well suited to hydrofoiling. Shorter lines also increase jumping performance as you’ll feel an increased connection to the kite, while in stronger winds the upwind ability will also be enhanced.
Big Air Capabilities
Experience real high performance without the complexity of a full race kite. The Mach1 naturally boosts higher with minimal input, with significantly increased hangtime compared to tube kites.
Responsive yet Stable
Turns with more power due to the higher aspect ratio, making it ideal for controlled boosts and high-speed runs.
Foiling Adaptability
Functions seamlessly across different hydrofoil sizes. Shorter lines (17m) provide more direct handling, while longer lines (using the 4m extensions, making a line length of 21m) offer extra power.
Great Depower
The Mach1’s efficient rotation benefits its ability to depower through a wide range of angle-of-attack changes.
User Experience
Easy transition for experienced tube kite riders as the feeling is intuitive and tuned to be more similar.
“The wind range of these kites is so good, especially the low end which makes it possible to practice multiple rotations in otherwise impossible conditions. It’s the best twin-tip foil kite I’ve ever tried for big air riding progression.”
TIMO BECKER, OZONE AMBASSADOR, GERMANY
Higher-Aspect-Ratio
Improved efficiency, greater hangtime and increased performance in light winds.
Refined Bridle System
Reduced bridle attachment points for easier setup while maintaining stability and control.
Durable Material Selection
Harder-wearing canopy and thicker bridle materials reduce tangles and increase longevity while maintaining lightweight performance.
Smooth & Progressive Power Delivery
Linear power output makes for more controlled and predictable handling.
Optimized for Different Line Lengths
Works exceptionally well with the advised 17 or 21m line lengths, adapting to riding style and conditions.
The Mach1 has been paired in three sets relating to the performance needed in different wind conditions.
Very powerful light wind kites, still capable of a great big air experience.
Offering more manoeuvrability and playfulness. Superb big air in lightwinds, huge hangtimes and extremely wide wind range.
These sizes are more based on the Chrono lower aspect design, compared to the bigger Mach 1 sizes, which have the higher-aspect R1 V4 shape. Being smaller, the 7 and 9m are for use in stronger winds and have a crazy ability to manage power. They also offer more manoeuvrability for freeride hydrofoiling. So these retain the Chrono’s smaller size, superb ease- of-use and kite looping ability.
“Using the 9 and 11m Mach1 was actually my first experience using a foil kite. After watching so many clips of riders doing crazy high jumps and being able to stay in the air for so long made me really want to try. It only took me a session to get used to the feeling, but I immediately noticed how much longer I was staying in the air.
“I’ve ridden the 9 and 11 metre sizes for several sessions and these kites have already helped me make progress. I’d love to have 30 knot conditions all the time, but that’s not possible. It’s crazy how much performance these kites have in lighter winds. I can now look at the forecast so differently and am super stoked to go out in 15 knots and get way more really good sessions.”

New Valve System
Improved air intake for faster inflation, and more internal pressure for better water and land relaunch.
Brake Line Adjustments
Three settings for optimizing control depending on twin-tip, all-round or hyrdofoil riding.
Closed Cell Construction
Ensures stability and better relaunch in varied conditions.
Given that our latest high-performance hydrofoil race kite, the R1 V5, is now highly specialised for hydrofoil racing with a two-line setup, minimal overhead lift and is built with ultra-lightweight materials, we saw an opportunity to merge race kite performance with freeride durability. We wanted to create a robust machine that excels in big air while maintaining the efficiency that tube kites can’t match.
When the R1 V4 was still current, many advanced twin-tip riders were choosing its high-aspect design for big air and hangtime.
Recognising the demand for a freeride foil kite with race-like performance, we took the DNA of the R1 V3 & V4 models and re-tuned things — removing race-specific constraints while reinforcing durability and enhancing big air capability.
Higher Aspect Ratio & Increased Cell Count
Due to its higher aspect ratio and increased cell count compared to the Chrono, the Mach1 delivers better performance in light winds, a broader range, and smoother power generation.
Boosting & Hangtime
With increased lift and linear power output, the Mach1 excels in big air, maintaining power and speed efficiently across various line lengths.
Turning Characteristics
Unlike the Chrono’s pivotal turns, the Mach1’s higher-aspect design generates more power in turns while maintaining control and precision.
The Mach1 isn’t just an upgrade — it’s a more redefined experience, surprisingly easy to handle and built for riders looking to elevate their performance in freeride and big air disciplines. Quite simply, it sets a new benchmark in performance foil kiting.
Three settings allow you to fine tune kite feedback and bar pressure to your liking. It is quick and easy to change with no extra lines to add or remove.
1: HYDROFOIL/SHORT LINES
The hydrofoil/short lines setting is the upper knot on the PB1 line. Recommended for hydrofoiling and when using lines less than 21m. This setting decreases bar pressure and offers a longer lifting period, more suitable for foiling manoeuvres.
2: ALL-ROUND
The All-Round setting is the middle knot on the PB1 line (factory setting). This offers an ideal balance in performance and feeling for most riders and conditions.
3: TWIN-TIP
The twin-tip setting is the lower knot on the PB1 line.
This setting increases bar pressure and offers a sharper, more direct feeling, perfect for twin-tip riding. If you prefer a heavier and direct feel this could be the setting for you.
The Mach1 is a high performance foil kite. Due to the different handling, launching and landing techniques compared to tube kites, we do not recommend it for beginners or intermediate kitesurfers.
HYPERLINK V4 – Intermediate to advanced riders
Do-it-all double surface design, convertible from open to closed cell. The ultimate crossover foil kite for water and snow, enabling year round use.

The future is now. All Ozone kite and wings are designed with our own highly advanced custom built CAD software that we control and modify with each new product design. Allowing for specifically tailored technical developments, our designers can maximise performance while also minimising waste.
Ozone kites and wings are crafted with exceptional precision using advanced laser technology to cut each panel individually in a single layer. This meticulous approach ensures consistent accuracy across all products, from entry level to high performance models. Our commitment to high standards in production reflects our dedication to delivering reliable, high-quality equipment for riders at every level.
Durable, airtight and lightweight double rip-stop Nylon material for the upper and lower surfaces. The material has a unique formulated coating to help shed water, improving flying characteristics and water re-launch.
The Leading Edge now features Transverse Sail Shaping creating a cleaner surface on the most important area of the aerofoil. The result is less turbulent airflow and longer skin adhesion, which positively effects the lift to drag ratio increasing overall performance.
The Leading Edge is reinforced with flexible lightweight plastic battens to maintain the shape of the profile during angle of attack changes and turbulent airflow. This drastically improves overall performance as the foil remains true to the designed shape.
A high number of cells controls ballooning between the ribs, holding the wing shape and designed surfaces smoother and more accurately. This reduces turbulent airflow, providing more efficiency, speed and de-power for increased overall performance.
The Leading Edge air intakes have been refined for faster progressive inflation, improved seal and optimised positioning to maintain internal air pressure. This enhances land and water re-launch capabilities.
Internal span-wise straps work in unison with optimized diagonal ribs, distributing load from the bridles evenly and effectively. This increases the internal structural balance that helps control the high aspect ratio, while allowing the top and bottom surfaces to maintain the designed profile without being distorted from indirect tension or loads.
High quality, low stretch sheathed bridle lines for maximum strength and performance. This is the same line we have used on our Snowkite range for over 10 years
Using high spec low friction Ronstan Orbit pulleys to reduce wear and rider fatigue while improve feeling and performance of the kite.
An internal channel is shaped into the end of each cell along the trailing edge. This allows loose sand or water to run between the cells and out of the tips during flight. Drainage valves at both wing tips seal to keep air in, and open up when water needs to drain out. The Velcro sealed tips can be opened for cleaning the kite. Always clean your kite by emptying any water, sand or dirt as this will prolong the life of the kite and help it fly as designed.
Intelligently positioned for easy deflation and pack down.
We work extensively during our R&D process to develop the size range to feel in tune with each other. Every kite has a unique bridle layout, individually tested and fine-tuned to maximize the feeling and performance.
Fool proof line connectors prevent incorrect rigging of the flying lines to the kite.
Technical Bag with loads of space featuring an internal stash pocket and external control system pocket. Adjustable shoulder straps and foam padding provide extra comfort.
For a secure packing process to maintain the plastic pattern profile shape. Light weight materials, internal compression straps and a breathable mesh lining keep weight and packing size to a minimum - perfect when traveling with multiple kites. Combine with the Technical Bag to fit multiple kites inside one bag.

What’s the first thing you do when you get in a car? You click in your seatbelt, hearing that ‘click’ sound makes you feel secure that you are safely buckled up, and you know instinctively how to release it. The design of our innovative quick release system, the Click-In Loop, was inspired by the same principle. In the same way fastening your seatbelt has become a natural action when getting into a car, riders should activate and reload their release systems before and after every use. Although this important safety check is often overlooked, checking your release before each session will ensure it is functioning properly. We developed the Click-In function to be simple and intuitive, so activating and reloading will become second nature.
All riders should attach their Kite Leash to the Flag Out System. This is the small eyelet on the Stainless Steel Swivel Ring.
When the release is activated, the kite will flag out and fall to the water/ground.
Riders performing unhooked tricks or who are more confident and have spent many hours Kiting can attach in Expert mode, where the loop part runs through the large eye of the steel ring. When letting go of the bar in Expert mode (without activating the release e.g. missed handle pass) the kite will depower but WILL NOT flag out.
Be aware in this situation, the Quick Release will be out of reach and can therefore not be released. When hooked in and activating the Quick Release the steel ring automatically slips off and the kite will flag out.
In all situations make sure that all lines are clear of all working release systems and the kite leash is connected in the right way.
Always clean your control system with fresh water after every session, and reload/release the Click-In Loop to check the system is functioning correctly. Store your control system with the Click-In Loop release open. Reload the next time you set up your kite.
