It was the last round of the KLBB European championships held at Ijmuiden (Netherlands) and both Ash Garwood and myself AJ Philipsen were attending to secure our final positions in the European standings.
The wind started out light on the first day meaning they would run all the junior and buggy rounds before running the Pro's event. This gave us time to get out to have a freeride and get used to the wind which was up and down so choosing the right kite would be essential. Ash chose to use the new Ozone Chrono v2 18m as his kite of choice, and i chose my trusty Ozone C4 12m.
The conditions were challenging as the with the wind changing strength and the beach surface getting churned up and soft. The level of riding in the competition was amazing with big old school tricks and loads of new school wakestyle being combined. By the end of the heats Ash got third place and i came fifth. So over all this was enough to move us up in the overall European rankings meaning Ash ended up in 3rd place overall and i came just behind in 4th place overall.
The next day was the last round of the racing, there was barely any wind so everyone was on big kites I chose to use the 18m Chrono. It was a challenging race as as the wind was dropping slowly so by the time we had finished it was almost completely gone. I managed to secure 5th place moving me up the overall rankings to 2nd place.
